Our
experience with pregnancy and parenting has taught us that we were
two un-informed and misinformed women. Pam was clinically diagnosed
with Postpartum Depression after giving birth to her son, and offers
a real-life look into the roller coaster of feelings and emotions
one suffers with PPD.
Beth’s experience has been the epitome of the disconnect between
the fantasy of all women about what pregnancy and parenting should
be versus reality. From extreme weight gains, and all of the pregnancy
“ailments”, to emergency c-sections, to an unsettling
future as a single mother with three small children, Beth has been
through it all.
We have authored editorial columns on the subject of pregnancy and
parenting that have been published in three newspapers throughout
the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area (click
here to read them).
We have spoken at numerous support groups, and other public forums,(click
to listen)
and appeared on local ABC-affiliate KATU’s “A.M. Northwest”
news magazine show with the author of “What to Expect When You’re
Expecting”, the most popular book series on the subject of parenting
and pregnancy. (click to view) |
